Prints for Sale

I found this cool website, www.society6.com It's kind of like a Facebook for artists. You can post your images, browse other artists' studios, curate a collection, and buy/sell prints of artwork.

I've set up a shop at society6 where you can buy large, high-quality prints of my latest artwork. Click here to visit and see what's available. Just in time for the holidays!

"Sou da Bahia" Paintings (cont.)

And here's the last one. Man, I wish you could post more than five images at a time on these blogs...

"Sou da Bahia" Paintings

So it's been a few weeks since Megan and I took our BFA final show down, but I'm just now getting around to posting the paintings here. These are all images from Bahia, Brazil, where we traveled last year as part of a collaborative art project called "Sou da Bahia." You can learn more about the project here.

Fashionista

Alright, I have to admit that I am woefully behind the times when it comes to my fashion sense in my illustrations. When I try to draw stylish clothing from my head, I usually fall back on the ol' T-shirt and colored pant. Yeesh.

So I'm trying to build my fashion vocabulary here by doing some sketches from a fashion site called lookbook.nu. It's what real people are wearing these days, albeit people with an acute (sometimes painfully so) sense of contemporary fashion.

These were done on the computer using a wacom tablet. I forced myself not to erase at all, but sometimes I did use the undo key (cheater). I'm trying to work out this "color" thing too. But that's a whole other story....

3x3 New Talent Gallery

I've been invited to be included in the New Talent gallery on 3x3 Magazine's online gallery webpage. You can check it out by clicking on the New Talent link on the side.

There are a bunch of really fantastic new illustrators on the page and it's a privilege to be among them! Take the time to look at everyone's work on the site, they really are awesome.

Also, my URL has been forwarded to my new online portfolio. Visit www.houstontrueblood.com to see it! I've still got a few kinks to work out, but It's coming along...

Megan!

Here are a couple of sketches I did of my beautiful wife, Megan, while we were at Lake Powell in Arizona last year. I love Megan so much—she is an incredible woman and so supportive of me and my art. She is an amazing artist herself and I'd love to see her posting on her blog, too (we set one up for her a while ago, but there's nothing on it yet, unfortunately). Someday I'd like to do a longer study in an attempt to capture her stunning beauty and elegance, but these will have to do for now.

Oh, and there's a cliff in there too.
